Maxine Grossman is a queer and disabled writer, producer, and comedian who recently wrapped working as a development executive & producer for New Metric Media, venturing out on her own with her new production company, eff-ewe entertainment.

She graduated from Toronto Metropolitan (formerly Ryerson) University’s RTA School of Media, along with a certificate from the coveted RTA in LA program. She then wrapped up her education with a development internship at Fabel Entertainment, known for Bosch (Amazon), in Los Angeles.

Since then, she worked on the studio side for multiple shows on CBC, CTV, Netflix, and more, with the creative and production teams at eOne, in broadcast commercials casting, and as a digital producer in advertising.

In recent years, she was a RespectAbility Labs finalist (2024), a Corus Writer’s Apprentice Program x Banff World Media Festival fellow (2022), a 2x Quarterfinalist in the ScreenCraft TV Pilot Competition (2021), Women on Screen Web Series Incubator and FEM Script Lab selections (2019), and a Magee TV Diverse Screenwriters Award finalist (2018 & 2019).

Maxine’s work is inspired by Ilana Glazer, Abbi Jacobson, Anna Konkle, Maya Erskine, Rachel Bloom, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge – all female writer/performers who are both empowered and empowering through their comedic work.

Maxine primarily writes scripted half-hour comedies and web series with secondary work in one-hour dramas. She was one of five selected out of over 130 applicants for the Corus Writer’s Apprentice Program with the Banff World Media Festival (2022), a Quarterfinalist for the ScreenCraft TV Pilot Competition (2021), a selection for the Women On Screen Web Series Incubator (2019) and FEM Script Lab (2019), and was a finalist for the Magee TV Diverse Screenwriter Award (2018 & 2019).

She also writes personal essays, satirical articles, and short stories.
